Boldog Uj Evet‏ - Happy New Year

Boldog Uj Evet‏ - Happy New Year

Happy New Year Everyone!

-
New Year’s Day here at the MTC was not exactly what everyone expected. It started with wide-spread sickness. Almost half of the MTC got some sort of flu-like sickness and I was one of them. It was a long day for sure. I went to the health Clinic and I loved seeing the picture of Christ they have framed on the wall. He is the true healer. Since I was sick all day, I ended up reading the entire "Our Heritage" book. It was interesting to read about the sicknesses that pioneers had and the blessings they received. Late last night two of my elders came and gave me a blessing. I'm grateful for the priesthood. My situation is not dire like that of the pioneers, but I'm grateful that the same authority is still on the earth. I feel much better today which is kind of amazing because the health clinic is still packed with people. Trust me, if I didn't feel better, I would not be sitting at this computer right now. I'm very grateful for our elders.

On another note, in about an hour I start consecration week. I will be speaking only Hungarian for a full week. I'm also going to be sacrificing sleep to study. Sister Burdick and I will be getting up at about 5:45 to do extra studying this week. This week is going to be hard, but I know it will be worth it. I'm excited to give it my all, because I really can't be ready for Hungary in less than 2 weeks without it.

Other than yesterday, this week has been good. I love our district and our teachers. We have fantastic teachers who really spend a lot of time helping us. It will be pretty hard to say goodbye to all of them. I am excited for Hungary though. I can't believe I've been here for 10 weeks. It went by a lot faster than I expected.

I hope you're all having a happy new year. I've read some really good talks on that lately (there's a talk about "Remember Lot's wife" by Elder Holland that's really good if anyone wants to look it up and read it). I hope you're all looking at this year as a year to grow and learn and come closer to Christ. "We must face tomorrow with determination, bravery and trust in the Lord". I'm excited for this New Year. It is guaranteed to bring some hard yet amazing experiences.

Thanks for all of your letters and prayers. They are definitely appreciated.
Love you all!
